Job Description


Bonitz, Inc. is looking for a full time, dynamic Risk Manager who has the capacity to lead and influence both internally and externally. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and sustain long-term relationships with customers, industry professionals, and internal team members. This person is an expert at learning and understanding the commercial construction industry, innovative health and safety practices, and managing multiple responsibilities from start to finish in a fun, unique, team environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Partner with key internal / external associates on safety initiative, to include: Corporate CPO, Senior Leadership, In-House Trade Associates, Subcontractors, OSHA Representatives, General Contractors, Project Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers.

  • Teach and educate in the field and classroom (teaching and presentation skills are of critical importance).

  • Exemplify and promote a culture of safety, leadership and ownership.

  • Provide EHS regulatory and technical expertise to employees and management.

  • Act as a point of contact for addressing employee concerns regarding health, risk management and safety.

  • Assist in the development of corporate safety programs and training presentations.

  • Investigate incidents to identify the root cause, determine how they will be prevented in the future, and communicate those findings.

  • Implement initiatives to reduce injury trends in certain locales or job functions.

  • Inspect project sites, warehouses, offices and vehicles for safety compliance.

  • Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring annual company-wide risk management initiatives.

  • Administrative duties as required, to include: safety record keeping and policy administration, creating training certification cards, assisting with our safety recognition program, coordinating materials and resources for safety training classes, assisting with worker’s compensation, general liability and automobile claims.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to speak English. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

  • Preferred: OSHA 500 or greater

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with safety responsibilities a plus

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Required Skills: self-motivated, critical thinking, time management, organized, detail oriented

  • Proven experience of the ability to lead and influence

  • Proficient computer skills: MS Office, Power Point, Word, Outlook, Excel

  • Positive representation of Bonitz: this position represents the face of Bonitz both internally and externally

  • Strong knowledge of safety best practices and OSHA construction regulations

  • 50% travel throughout Bonitz footprint, including occasional overnight.
