PROJECT SPECIALIST

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Bonitz, Inc. is looking for a full time, dynamic commercial Design and Project Specialist who has the capacity to lead and influence both internally and externally. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and sustain long-term relationships with general contractors, architects, designers, owners, end users, and internal team members. This person is an expert at learning and understanding the industry, prospecting new business, cultivating a pipeline of existing business, and managing multiple projects from start to finish in a fun, unique, team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Cultivate close relationships with the architecture & design community.

  • Work to help specify interior products through architectural firms.

  • Assist Bonitz Project Consultants in specifying products & obtaining bid lists.

  • Be the point person for developing strong vendor relationships with local manufacturer’s representatives. This includes scheduling weekly product updates for the Bonitz team.

  • Must become familiar from a product knowledge standpoint with carpet, resilient flooring, hardwoods, porcelain tile, ceilings & specialty wall products.

  • In addition to working with the design community, work whenever possible to cultivate relationships and specify products for end users directly.

  • Attend as many vendor training sessions and/or vendor shows as possible.

  • Organize events for the design community such as an annual product trade show.

  • Must be available to attend and host industry events after 5pm.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but can be replaced by relevant industry experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a business environment.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

  • Critical Thinking, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail

  • Professional Attitude and Appearance

  • Entertain customers, off hours is required

  • 3+ years of industry experience required, preferable in Interior Design

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferable in Interior Design or Architecture

  • Travel up to 30% of the time

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Social Media including Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin.
