The Bonitz team installed the flooring and ceilings at Airspeed, the 114,000-square-foot headquarters of 23XI Racing in Huntersville, just outside Charlotte, NC.
The facility is the team’s main operations hub, co-owned by basketball legend Michael Jordan and NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin. Bonitz delivered both scopes with one team.
What went in at Airspeed
Ceilings: Frasch, Soelberg and Huddl baffles, Chroma collections and USG acoustical ceiling tile.
Flooring: J&J carpet, Shaw carpet, LVT and Kinetex.
Why it mattered for the GC
A building this size, with this much product, puts real pressure on the final piece of the job. Three baffle lines, a feature ceiling, standard tile and four flooring types all had to line up at the edges. Normally that means separate companies, separate schedules and a GC stuck in the middle sorting out who goes first and who fixes the damage.
At Airspeed, the GC got the One Bonitz approach: both scopes under one contract. That let Bonitz plan ceilings and floors together, from lift traffic and floor protection to the transitions between carpet, LVT and Kinetex. The GC had one team to call about either scope.
One Bonitz
When you buy out interior finishes with Bonitz, you get multiple scopes under one roof, with the same crew leadership and communication across all of them. Fewer handoffs, fewer gaps and one partner responsible for the finishes from the ceiling down.
Common questions
What did Bonitz install at 23XI Racing’s headquarters?
Carpet, LVT, Kinetex, acoustical ceiling tile and specialty baffle systems, all under one contract.
Why combine finish scopes on a project like Airspeed?
Ceilings and flooring depend on each other for sequencing and protection. One team running both means less coordination for the GC.
